Wine tasting class

Wine tasting class

6/6/13
We tasted two wines in class. Both were Gewurztraminer wine. The word Gewurz means “spicy.”
The first wine was from Senoma, California. It was made in 2012. It contained 14.5% of alcohol. It was white wine. It smelled sweet and alcohol. When we swirled the wine, the smell got stronger(sweeter smell). It was very interesting. It didn’t taste as sweet as I thought it would be. It was bitter and very dry.
The second wine had more yellow color than the first one. It contained 12% of alcohol and was made in 2010. It didn’t smell as sweet as the first one. It smelled less fruity. it tasted less alcohol and less bitter than the first one, but it tasted sweeter than the first one.
